Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda

Kibale National Park: The largest group of chimpanzees ever recorded was in Kibale, in western Uganda. There are over 1500 chimpanzees there, as well as baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and other ape species. The chimpanzee trekking safari in Uganda begins early in the morning with a briefing from the guides. If you want to go on a chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park, you must first buy a permit to do so.

The chimpanzees in Kibale National Park are also habituated. This means that they are studied, researched, and taught to get used to people. That means you get to spend more time with the primates because you spend almost half a day with the chimps.

The following is how the prices for permits are set: People from outside the East African Community (EAC) pay 150,000 Ugandan Shillings, while foreigners who live in the country pay $150. This tiered system shows different fees for visitors based on where they live, with non-residents paying more than residents and EAC citizens. This is in line with the idea of charging different people different amounts to access certain activities or sites.
