Today's journey is dedicated to visiting the little islands of Nosy Komba (including Lemur Island!) and Nosy Tanikely. First, we will take a boat to Nosy Komba, known for its many small, inhabited beaches and the emerald sea surrounding its blissful shores, with few tourists. After this, we will head to Nosy Tanikely, located about 10 kilometers from Komba. It's important to take advantage of the unique snorkeling opportunities here, as this island is a protected marine reserve and one of the best snorkeling sites in the area, featuring coral, numerous fish, and sea turtles. We will have lunch there before returning to the hotel in the afternoon.
We'll start our day by leaving the hotel and setting off for the stunning Nosy Iranja by speedboat. This paradise consists of two beautiful islands connected by a long stretch of soft white sand—an iconic sight featured in countless photos of Nosy Be. Nosy Iranja is also a vital nesting site for sea turtles, making it a dream destination for water activity enthusiasts. Upon arrival, you'll have the chance to explore the charming fishing villages and learn about the local community and its ecosystem. We'll take a leisurely walk along the cliffs and visit the historic lighthouse, where you can enjoy breathtaking, panoramic views of the Mozambique Channel. After a delightful picnic lunch, we'll head back to the main island and return to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel while taking in a beautiful sunrise over coffee. Today, we'll journey east by car to visit Lokobe National Park. According to the Madagascar National Park Authority, this park is home to 50 species of reptiles, 14 species of amphibians, 42 birds, and three species of primates living freely in their natural environment. In the park, we will also encounter the unique black lemur (Eulemur macaco), which is endemic to the northern area. After the visit, we'll return for lunch and then take a walk around Ambatonjavavy to observe the daily life of the local people. Later we'll head back to the beach for a good night's rest.
In the morning, we will drive you to discover the town located on Nosy Be Island, starting with a visit to Lemuria Land, where you can spot different species of lemurs and interact with them by sharing fruits. You'll also find various reptiles and plant species. Next, we'll visit the ylang-ylang factory, where you can see how essential oil is produced from the flowers and have the opportunity to buy finished products (if you're interested). We will conclude our program with a visit to the town, including a stop at the open market to pick up some unique local souvenirs.
