Next, explore Antsirabe Cathedral, also known as Notre Dame de la Salette, a Catholic church founded in 1908 and dedicated in 1931. After a day of discovery, check into your hotel. Miandrivazo, your destination, is famously the hottest town in Madagascar.

Your day begins with an early departure and breakfast on the go, as you journey toward the capital of the baobab tree. Arrive at Kirindy Forest, a private nature reserve north of Morondava. This remarkable forest is a jewel of western Madagascar, a remnant of the primary dry forest with an extraordinary rate of endemism. It is also home to the fossa, the island's largest predator. Spend two hours exploring the reserve, then return after dark for a two-hour night walk to discover the forest's nocturnal secrets.

Your day begins with an early morning visit to Kirindy Forest, a true jewel of western Madagascar and a remnant of the primary dry forest. This private reserve boasts an extraordinary rate of endemism—home to 8 lemur species, 68 birds, 43 reptiles, and countless other creatures. After a 4-hour exploration, you'll return to your hotel for lunch. As night falls, head to Ankiba Lodge for an evening walk to spot nocturnal lemurs, or take a microbus for a different perspective. Explore the Queen's Palace (Rova), perched at the highest point since 1610, then wander through Analakely Market, where French colonial buildings line Avenida Independencia and locals trade goods.
