- Day1Arrival in Antananarivo
Welcome to Antananarivo! Your English-speaking guide from I Travel 2 Madagascar will greet you, assist with formalities, and transfer you to your hotel. Tana, as it's known, sits at 1,280 meters—the highest island capital. The "City of the Thousand Soldiers" awaits.
- Day2Antananarivo-Andasibe
After breakfast, drive 3 hours to Peyrieras Reptile Reserve—chameleons, frogs, snakes, tenrecs, and geckos. Curators often bring animals out for photos. Continue to Andasibe with scenic stops.
- Day3Andasibe-Antananarivo
After breakfast, trek Andasibe-Mantadia for diademed sifakas, woolly sifakas, brown lemurs, and Indri Indri. Explore orchids and birds. Afternoon: Vakona Lodge for sifakas, bamboo lemurs, and ruffed lemurs. Return to Antananarivo with photo stops.
- Day4Antananarivo-Nosy Be
After breakfast, fly to Nosy Be—"big island" in the Mozambique Channel. Madagascar's largest tourist destination, with nearby islands: Komba, Mitsio, Sakatia, Tanikely. Main town: Hell-Ville. Volcanic, 312 km², 19 km wide, Mont Lokobe 450 m.
- Day5Nosy Komba and Nosy Taninkely
Nosy Tanikely—a marine reserve for snorkelers and bird lovers. Crystal waters reveal coral, starfish, anemones, fish, turtles, and lobsters. Spot lemurs, flying foxes, and tropic birds. Climb to the lighthouse. End with a sunset at Mont Passot (326 m).
- Day6Nosy Iranja
Nosy Iranja—two islands connected by a sandbar (1.25 km, walkable at low tide). Turquoise waters, white beaches, and a lighthouse. Sea turtles nest here. A paradise escape.
- Day7Nosy Be-Antananarivo
Explore Nosy Be by car—Andilana Beach, a cascade, and sacred trees. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Antananarivo, the historic Merina capital and home to all 18 Malagasy ethnic groups.
- Day8Antananarivo-Departure
After breakfast at the hotel before your international departure, a city tour will be organized.
