You'll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the morning, register there, and then make your way down to the crater floor. You will go on a full day of wildlife drives at the floor and eat lunch on a picnic blanket by the Hippo pool. You will resume your game drives in search of rhinos, elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, gerenuks, etc. after lunch. The Lake Magadi in the center of the crater floor is home to flamingos, pelicans, Egyptian geese, and many other aquatic species. The Ngorongoro Crater is especially well-known for its birdlife. A few such birds are the hammerkop and the lilac-breasted roller weavers. You will travel up to the lodge later in the day to spend the night.
