6 Days Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari is a big five adventure that takes you through two of Uganda’s top national parks, the Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park for the scenic savannah grassland landscapes and the magnificent wide range of wildlife. You will enjoy game drives and boat launches on Victoria Nile and the Kazinga channel. This safari gives you a chance to encounter the big five mammals alongside a variety of other wildlife and bird species in 2 major national parks in Uganda, these parks are known for the wide range of biodiversity-ecosystem ranging from Savana plains, woodland, and tropical forest and they are also surrounded by communities which offer the best cultural experience. Murchison Falls is known for being the world’s most powerful waterfalls that come as a result of the flow of river Nile into a narrow 7m gorge hence resulting in a stunning waterfall best viewed on the boat cruise and also Queen Elizabeth national is best known of its kazinga channel which intersects lake George and Edward and has the highest concentration of hippos in Africa.

Itinary in details

  • Day1
    On this day, after breakfast, you will meet your safari guide to leaving Kampala for Murchison falls national park. Along the way, you will have a stopover in Nakasongola at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking, and from there you will have your lunch at Kabalega dinners. Continue to Murchison falls National Park, upon arrival check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day2
    Wake up early for your breakfast and embark on your early morning game drive in the northern bank of River Nile, the area is home to several wildlife species such as African elephants, Cape buffalos, lions and leopards, giraffes, Jackson heartbeats, olive baboons, monkeys, and antelopes, as well bird species can also be seen such as white-thighed hornbill, the chocolate backed kingfishers, purely illadopsis which is endemic to Uganda. After your morning game drive, we shall head back to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. From there in the afternoon embark on the launch cruise to the bottom of the falls along with the views schools of hippo, Nile crocodiles, buffalos, elephants, and numerous aquatic birds including the rare shoebill, from the boat ride drive through the park towards the lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day3
    After the morning breakfast, your guide will lead you for a guided nature walk and Rabongo forest walk which is commonly known as a birders paradise this will give you a chance to view the rare shoebill stock and also bird species this is a great experience for you to enjoy birding, wildlife, and the beautiful landscape views. After lunch, you will visit the top of the falls to experience the waters violently squeezing through a 7m narrow gorge, spraying misty droplets around over a 50m radius, which creates a permanent rainbow. Check-in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day4
    After your breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up and leave Murchison falls to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey is so exciting with scenic views of landscapes, plantations, forests, and small urban centers. You can ask your safari guide for the stop at any interesting point where you would like to view and take pictures. We shall have a stopover in Masindi or Hoima town for lunch and later proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park. Arrive there in the evening and check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day5
    On this day, after your breakfast and go for the morning game drive where we shall encounter several mammals such as herds of African elephants, Cape buffaloes, lion, leopard, hyenas, antelopes, and others. Enjoy different species of birds. About 500 species find queen Elizabeth as a home hence making it a paradise for birding activity and these birds include the Black-bee eater, Kingfishers, falcons, eagles, and raptors. Transfer back to the lodge for lunch and relax as you wait for the afternoon adventure. In the afternoon you will have a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel which intersects Lake George and Edward where you will see a variety of wildlife mostly marine species. This water stream joins Lake Edward and Lake George and here you will encounter hippos school, herds of cape buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, waterbucks, and a number of water birds. Catch a view of water birds fishing, like the bee-eater and cheeky bronze-tailed starling Marabou stork crowned crane. Transfer back to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

  • Day6
    After your breakfast, you will visit the crater lakes in Queen Elizabeth and from there check out of the lodge and embark on the transfer to Kampala. Along the way, you will have a stopover for the en-route lunch in Mbarara town and continue with a second stopover at the equator line for experimental illustrations and proceeding to Kampala. Your safari guide will drop you at the airport by the driver where you will catch your flight.
