Itinary in details

  • Day1
    On this day, you will be picked up by our driver guide from Entebbe international airport or your place of residence for the briefing about this adventure and start your road trip to western Uganda, towards the Gorilla land of Bwindi Impenetrable forest National park. This is a long day vehicle drive of about 8hours with a lunch stopover en-route at Mbarara Town. This 450km long drive takes you through a number of scenic features includes the tropical rain forests, savannah fields, small urban markets, vegetable markets, plantations, and the terraced hills of Kigezi commonly known as the Switzerland of East Africa. Upon arrival at the lodge have a full night’s relaxation as you wait for the next day’s adventure.

  • Day2
    After early morning breakfast, and with your picnic parked lunch box we then take a short drive to the park offices for a briefing where we meet the excellent assigned local guides and trackers who give a talk on the dos and don’ts of mountain gorilla trekking. We then trek into the forest to a spot where Gorillas were seen the previous day and continue from there with our search. Trekking may take a long between 3 to 6 hours depending on where the assigned Gorilla family is located and altitudes which exceeds of 7500 feet. The terrain is rough and muddy calling for physical fitness, be advised to hire a porter to give a hand with the backpackers and cameras. Although the hike is physically challenging, the scenic views of the forest and its surrounding environment make the trekking worthwhile. From there transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

  • Day3
    Whole day in Queen Elizabeth National Park-Game drive and Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Have an early morning breakfast then drive for a morning game drive within Queen Elizabeth National park. Anticipate to see the 4 of the famous big five including Buffalos, elephants, lions, and other mammals like Giant forest hogs, Bushbucks, Kobs, Hyenas, and waterbucks, and retire from there for lunch. In the afternoon hours, your safari guide will take you for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. You will love the large numbers of Elephants, Hippos, Buffalos, and crocodiles and several bird species will also be viewed along including the Pelicans and the rare shoebill. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

  • Day4
    Have an early morning breakfast and head to Kalinzu Forest for Chimpanzee tracking to meet man’s closet cousins in the wild. You will be amazed to see these primates as they play, swing on tree branches, fight for food, etc. Later embark on an exciting road trip back to Kampala or Entebbe international airport with lunch en-route in Mbarara Town, to be dropped at your point of call in the evening.
