5 Day Kenya Tanzania Safari, more extraordinary wildlife experience through exploring the world’s best tourism destinations like Serengeti national park and Maasai Mara national reserve. Masai Mara National Park is located in the south of Kenya along the border of Tanzania and is adjacent to the neighboring Serengeti National Park. The park is named in honor of the indigenous people of the Maasai community. Masai Mara National Park occupies an area of 580 square miles.
It represents the northernmost section of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The Mara River, Sand River, and Talek River are the premier rivers draining waters of the park. The Masai Mara is famous for its variety of larger plains species inclusive of predators. The key wildlife species that might be seen in the Masai Mara include hippo, giraffe, waterbuck, warthog, eland, reedbuck, roan antelope, baboon, crocodile, topi, gazelle, zebra, monkeys, and black rhino.
There are also good views of high numbers of predators like lion, jackal, hyena, leopard, cheetah, and mongoose species. The Masai Mara is a section of the greater Mara Ecosystem which includes the Ol Chorro Oirowua, Olkinyei, Naikara, Ol Derkesi, Maji Moto, Kerinkani, Koiyaki, Lemek, Siana, Maji Moto, Kerinkani, Oloirien, and Kimintet reserved ranches. Maasai mara hosts the scenic Wildebeest migration between July and October with over 1.5 million wildebeest crossing Mara River all the way from the adjacent Serengeti national park, besides wildlife, the park presents a beautiful view of the plains and wooded landscapes.
Masai Mara also presents high chances of encountering legendary and cultural experiences; you can explore the Maasai culture on your tour o the Maasai village. The Masai Mara is closely the leading destination in Kenya; it is home to 95 species of mammals. It is also a birding spot with over 400 species of birds. Serengeti national park occupies an area of 5,700 square miles.

Itinary in details
- Day1Nairobi to Masai Mara safariOn this day, our safari guide will meet you after your breakfast and brief you about the 5 Day Kenya Tanzania Safari adventure, and then transfer you from Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival proceed to check-in at the lodge and have lunch. You will then head out for the sunset game drive in which you anticipate seeing various animals including the black manned Lions, African Elephants, Leopards, Cheetah, Cape Buffalos, and much more. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
- Day2whole Day at Masai Mara game reserveAfter an early breakfast, set off for the morning game drive for the lookout for the African Big Five and other wild games. Later return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive following different trails, which will give you a chance to spot even more animals. Transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
- Day3Transfer from Masai Mara to Serengeti National ParkYon this day, you will have an early breakfast and checkout from the lodge by 6:00 am. We kick start with the game drive as we drive to the Isebania border as we move towards our next destination of the 5 Day Kenya Tanzania Safari, this day will take you to another section of Masai Mara as you exit the park via Olololo gate in Mara west. Then, we get cleared and cross to Tanzania where we shall proceed to Serengeti national park. Upon arrival, we embark on the 2 hours sunset game drive as you enjoy the plains of Serengeti. The Serengeti allows you to spot the big five game in plenty. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.
- Day4Full day at the Serengeti National ParkAfter your early morning breakfast, we head out for the morning game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which intersects into the plains south of the Seronera River, some of the wildlife to look out for in this section include the Lions, topi, ostriches, Thomson gazelles, cheetahs among others. After your game drive, you will proceed to the Visitor Centre closer to Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites. The Centre offers amazing wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area, as well we shall be having our lunch from there. Later In the afternoon, we will embark on the drive through the Kopjes Circuit, which directs anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, this circuit is known for the big numbers of lions and cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the savanna plains, providing shade and drinking water in pools making it spectacular hunting grounds for lions especially during the dry seasons when. Return for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
- Day5Serengeti to ArushaAfter breakfast, embark on a morning game drive where you will encounter nocturnal animals returning from hunting and lions awaking in the dawn. the morning game drives go for about 2-3 hours and thereafter head back to the Lodge or Camp for check out and have the final game drive as you are exiting the Park. Drive to Arusha with picnic parked lunch, arrive Arusha late afternoon with a drop off in the hotel or airport.
